iKON’s Debut “My Type” Style

Is it too late to be talking about iKON’s debut? Certainly not! Even though “My Type” came out over a moth ago it still has become a mainstay with its relaxed yet upbeat tune. As far as I am concerned, their entry into the music business was worth the wait.

So let us begin with a little Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh. The Letterman Patch Jacket (also called the Striped Varsity Jacket on some sites) is worn by Chanwoo. The green color option seemed to be massively popular, selling out from most online retailers. While the caramel color has also been notably absent, there is still an opportunity for you to nab a black version for yourself ($1406). However, these have also been quick to disappear and hold a rather hefty price tag.

The misfortune of Off-White clothing continues with an outfit worn by Bobby. Regrettably the exact version seen in the MV seems to only be available in stores (price not listed). It is a slight twist on their typical hoodie which is continually re-issued in new colors with and without a hood ($405) ($425). These are also worth the time to check out if you are interested in a more classic look. Perhaps your choices will not be swayed? Then I suggest taking a look at the long sleeve version of Bobby’s sweatshirt ($287). But if you are more interested in the hood than in keeping with the exact pattern and logo placement, you may wish to try a comparably dyed and distressed version ($350). Though none of these may be exact, they do allow for you to play up your own style rather than seeking out an exact replica of the original. Anything that allows your clever and creative individuality to shine through is always a plus.

Chanwoo can be seen wearing my personal favorite piece from their MV, this one comes from Opening Ceremony ($195). The clever collaboration with Kodak brought forth a crew-neck sweatshirt reminiscent of that old and well-known logo. Long sleeves with bold yellow lettering mimic the color tones on the front and remind us of the maker’s brand.

Bobby adds a bit of basketball into his wardrobe with a black Chicago Bulls jersey. While Michael Jordan’s #23 ($39) is available from secondary retailers, you can also peruse the Official NBA Store for more colors, styles, and player names or numbers. iKON went on to reprise a similar red style jersey for their “Rhythm Ta” video. Though these were each customized for the particular members, you could certainly attain a similar look by selecting a red Chicago Bulls jersey where there are countless to choose from. Many options for customization exist, such as adding your own name ($100).

A Pigalle x NikeLab collaboration rounds out the basketball theme with two separate tops. Pivot hoodie blue and jersey blue are both currently sold out at pigallebasketball.com but you may still be able to locate it elsewhere.

Finishing up with the sweatshirt finds, B.I. wears a Camo Jacquard Shark Full Zip Hoodie from Japanese clothing brand Bape also known as Bathing Ape ($401).
