SNSD‘s leader Taeyeon has finally released her anticipated solo single “I” and the accompanying music video. The visually-stunning video was shot in scenic New Zealand, with some scenes in the countryside and others in Auckland, at The Portland Public House. The song is a personal one for Taeyeon, and the inspiring lyrics speak of grasping your dreams and flying with them to find your place in the world. The MV illustrates this concept with two separate Taeyeons. One seems to be at one with world around her, living a tranquil existence with nature, while the other toils away at a thankless restaurant job. Waitress Taeyeon is full of lost dreams, but one day is inspired by a butterfly to change her life. She leaves her job behind and drives away, eventually meeting her true self, and the two Taeyeons symbolically become one.
It is easy to distinguish between the different Taeyeons thanks to their wardrobes. Free-Spirited Taeyeon is dressed in light flowing dresses, chunky knitwear and ponchos galore, including a Chloe Hooded Cape Coat ($1992). Waitress Taeyeon wears darker, more contemporary items like white and plaid blouses, knee high boots and leather jackets. On her trip to the countryside to find herself, she can be see wrapped in a Zadig & Voltaire Plume Scarf ($310).
