The theme of Steve J & Yoni P‘s Spring/Summer 2015 collection is Reborn: 21st Renaissance so the duo incorporated several Renaissance elements into their Seoul Fashion Week show. Models wore wild blonde wigs — an homage to Marie Antoinette with a funky twist. Modernized classical music filled the air. The contemporary casual brand is known for their youthful designs and this season is more of the same. As with all Steve J & Yoni P collections, denim and florals are worked in, but this season also features graffiti-inspired elements like scribble prints and typography. Several phrases appeared repeatedly on designs: “Make sense out of nonsense”, “Don’t Speak Loudly” and “Not To Draw”. The women’s portion of the collection had a very romantic feel, using shades of pink and purple with sheer overlays and ruffle embellishments. Several different looks also had elaborate waistbands reminiscent of intricate kimono obis. Towards the end of the show, the designs trended toward deep chocolate brown and olive green.
Steve J & Yoni P shows are always a popular event among Korean celebrities and have a wide variety of stars in attendance from idols, to actors and models as well. Lee Hyori is a front row fixture at Steve J & Yoni P shows, due to her close friendship with the pair. She is always wearing items from the show that is debuting and at this event she could be seen in a long green jacket with patches. SNSD Tiffany also provided a sneak peek at the runway with a shorter version of the same style jacket.
Other regulars at Steve J & Yoni P shows who were at their latest include Choi Kang Hee, Lee Chun Hee with his wife Jun Hye Jin and 2AM member Jo Kwon, all of whom wore items from the current Fall 2014 collection. Choi Kang Hee wore a Long Lace Dress ($377) with a Lace Detailed Denim Jacket. Lee Chun Hee was in an olive green Wool Floral Print Blazer, a “
Nevertheless Life Goes On” Tee and Striped Trousers while Jun Hye Jin was by his side in a Floral Mesh Long Dress ($405). Jo Kwon wore a Love Sweatshirt ($282) with fleecy camouflage sleeves.
Actress Han Groo attended the show wearing a Flower Embroidered Crop Sweatshirt ($274) with a high-waist skirt. The youthful label looked fitting on soloist Sun Mi, who paired a Stripe Ruffle Blouse Dress ($302) with a Floral Stadium Jacket. Another solo Kpop star at the event was Son Dam Bi. She wore Steve J & Yoni P’s black cocktail dress with sheer sleeves and carried a funky faux fur clutch.
