British fashion house Burberry is best know for one iconic garment — the trench coat. Several years ago the collaborative project “Art of the Trench” was created and people were encouraged to post pictures documenting themselves in their beloved Burberry outerwear and special portraits were also commissioned by some of the world’s top photographers. This year, photos were taken of a variety of Korean stars in Burberry trenches, and the launch event for the Seoul project was held this week.

Sooyoung of SNSD was one of the celebrities who modeled for the “Art of the Trench” shoot, and she also attended the launch party. She wore a Feather Skirt Trench Coat from the Limited Edition Regent Collection which is available exclusively at Burberry’s Regent Street location in London. The collection is comprised of a dozen handcrafted trench coats that are inspired by some of Burberry’s most recognizable designs from past seasons. Sooyoung’s coat references the Spring/Summer 2007 line.

Actor Yoo Ah In also took part in the “Art of the Trench” project and attended the launch. He looked refined, yet casual in a burgundy Double Wool Heart Sweater ($2195) which was paired with dark trousers and chunky-soled wingtip shoes. The sweater is from the Fall 2013 collection from the Burberry Prorsum line. Hearts are a common motif, found in many of the season’s items.

CL from 2NE1 also turned up to the event, even though she didn’t participate in the “Art of the Trench” project. She proved she can rock Burberry with the best of them in a Metal Heart Bustier Dress ($2495) from the Fall/Winter 2013 Burberry Prorsum line. She accessorized with a black Little Crush clutch bag in mink and leather ($3295), also from Burberry, and a unique five finger gold ring from Eddie Borgo ($300).
