Fashion for A Cause: After School’s Nana

After School Nana KMW 2012 H&M Fashion Against AIDSFor the last five years, fashion mega-retailer H&M has been teaming up with Designers Against AIDS (DAA) to offer a special collection of clothing for the “Fashion Against AIDS” campaign. Past collections have featured collaborations with celebrities including Rihanna, Katy Perry and Yelle; this year they partnered with artists and illustrators from around the world to produce collection with a very global feel that incorporates a variety of bright colors and tribal patterns.

After School‘s Nana was recently seen wearing pieces from this collection on stage at the 2012 MBC Korean Music Wave in Bangkok. Her ensemble included dip-dyed distressed denim shorts ($25), that are slightly reminiscent of Neapolitan ice cream, as well as a racerback tank ($18) featuring an uneven hem, with a portrait of a woman printed on the front.  With her hair in two fishtail braids, the K-pop singer perfects a very laid-back summer look.

The “Fashion Against AIDS” items will be available for purchase in select H&M stores around the world on April 26,2012 at 9 AM local time. A full 25% of the purchase price for the collection items is donated to HIV/AIDS prevention. Don’t live near an H&M? You can still help out and “Make Out for a Cause”…no really! You can upload a photo of you and someone you love sharing a kiss, and H&M will donate $1 to the cause. Some of the international charities that are supported include DAA, YouthAIDS and MTV Staying Alive Foundation. Check out H&M’s website for more information on this fundraiser and the rest of the items included in this year’s special collection.
